A rates feed that refuses to publish stale numbers
A mortgage site where published rates carry regulatory weight. Built to pull live market data automatically — and, more importantly, to fail closed and hide the figures rather than ever show an out-of-date number.

The problem
Mortgage marketing lives or dies on current rates, but a stale rate on a lender site is a compliance exposure. Manual updating guarantees it eventually goes stale on a busy week.
What we did
- Automated weekly market-rate feed with a strict freshness contract
- Fails closed — if data is stale, the figures come down on their own
- Location pages built against an enforced duplicate-content threshold
- Automated SEO and link audits wired in, so regressions get caught by machine
Outcome
- Largest contentful paint
- under 550ms
- Cumulative layout shift
- 0
- Stale rates published
- never
